Chocolate Montes date back to 1949, when biscuits were first sold in tins, rather than packets. Arnott's research shows that today, Montes are a favourite among Australian men. This may be because a Monte is so satisfying. Or perhaps it's the homestyle texture and taste, featuring coconut and dark, semi-sweet chocolate. The biscuit used in Monte is almost the same as the ones we use to make Monte Carlo Creams, hence the name.
